Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up, the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, nor even eagle flew.
And while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space...
...put out my hand, and touched the face of God.jerrinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3472065020397777461.post-88999416202240922902010-09-26T17:19:11.542-06:002010-09-26T17:19:11.542-06:00http://home.earthlink.net/~eilonwy/highflight/poem...http://home.earthlink.net/~eilonwy/highflight/poem.htm
This is what I found. I have wanted to find that poem again. Do you know anything about it? My mother told me it was written before flight was developed. I thought "McGee" was part of the man's name. The skies were a wonderful blue backdrop for those colorful balloons. NM is the best place for hot air ballooning.Abbeynoreply@blogger.com
